Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey had worked together since 1992 at Renaud & Papi and launched the brand at Baselworld 2004 with the Double Tourbillon 30°. The house, based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, makes about 100 watches a year, focused on inclining tourbillons and balances to improve timekeeping and on extreme hand finishing. Richemont acquired a minority stake in 2006.
