Longines

Machine translation pending human review. Figures and sources match the original.

Auguste Agassiz founded the company in Saint-Imier in 1832, and in 1867 Ernest Francillon built there the factory that gave it its name and scale. Its winged hourglass logo, registered in 1889, is according to Wikipedia the oldest active unchanged trademark on file with WIPO. Longines partnered with Weems in 1927 and Lindbergh in 1931 to create air navigation watches, and has timed many competitions. It has been part of what is now the Swatch Group since 1983.
