History

Georges Édouard Piaget founded the firm in 1874 in La Côte-aux-Fées, in the Swiss Jura, making pocket watches and movements. His son Timothée turned it towards wristwatches from 1911. The ultra-thin 9P and 12P calibres of 1957 and 1960 set its speciality, and in 1979 came the Polo, its most recognisable model. It has belonged to Richemont since 1988.
