Swatch

Machine translation pending human review. Figures and sources match the original.

Swatch was born in 1983 as Switzerland's answer to the quartz crisis, with a first collection of twelve models presented in Zurich and a name that contracts second watch. Ernst Thomke, Elmar Mock and Jacques Müller are named as its creators, and Nicolas Hayek later shaped the group that now bears its name. In 2013 it presented Sistem51, a 51-part mechanical movement with automated assembly. In 2022 the MoonSwatch collaboration with Omega sold out on launch day.
