Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile founded the brand in Le Locle in 1853. It soon sold pocket watches in the Russian Empire and, around 1930, made one of the first antimagnetic watches. In 1999 it launched the T-Touch tactile line. In 2021 it reissued the 1978 PRX, and the model became very popular.
