Watches and Wonders 2026: nearly 60,000 visitors to see smaller watches
Geneva closed its largest edition with an unspectacular message: back to two or three hands, more compact cases and anniversaries. The most relevant thing was not a watch but the tacit agreement among brands on where size is heading, and the price of celebrating half a century of the Nautilus.
Machine translation pending human review. Figures and sources match the original.
The 2026 edition was the largest to date, and that is the organisers' word, so it should be read with that filter. Its official wrap-up of 20 April cites nearly 60,000 unique visitors (+9%), 25,000 tickets sold over the three public days (+9%), 1,750 journalists (+9%) and 6,000 retailers. It adds a reach of 900 million people (+29%) for its social media hashtag, a self-reported reach figure with no audit that we have been able to see.
Visitors to Watches and Wonders Geneva
Organisers' figures. 2026: "nearly 60,000", +9%. 2025: "more than 55,000". 2024: 49,000, the weakest figure in the chart, read in a search excerpt attributed to the fair's website and consistent with the +12% the press reported for 2025.

On that official list are Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Audemars Piguet, TAG Heuer, Tudor, Grand Seiko and Nomos. Omega, Longines and Breitling are not: the fair that presents itself as a world capital does not bring everyone together.
Rolex: a hundred years of the Oyster, at a premium
Rolex devoted its centrepiece to a hundred years of the Oyster case. The Oyster Perpetual 41 ref. 134303 adds yellow gold on the bezel and crown, a slate dial and a "100" on the crown, on the calibre 3230 with 70 hours of reserve and 100 metres of water resistance. It costs $9,650 against $7,050 for the standard Oyster Perpetual 41, 37% more; in Europe it is quoted at €9,500, a press figure we could not check against Rolex.
Patek Philippe: half a century of the Nautilus
Three limited references, 5,000 watches in total, all 6.9 mm thick with calibre 240. The underlying gesture is that one of them, the 5610/1P-001, measures 38 mm. An anniversary Nautilus smaller than the 42 mm original of 1976 says more about the times than any press release.
The cost of celebrating: launch prices of five novelties
In dollars, before tax. Patek Philippe: SJX, which also gives 60,000, 75,000 and 90,000 Swiss francs. Rolex: aBlogtoWatch. Tudor: retailer price recorded by WatchCharts in September 2026; unconfirmed on the brand's website.

The real news: the ruler
Monochrome summed up the fair with a statement that is its own estimate, not a statistic: the men's standard is moving towards 36-39 mm, from 40-43 mm. What are facts are the specific reductions, and there were many: IWC's Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar drops from over 46 mm to 42 mm, Bulgari's Octo Finissimo from 40 to 37 mm and Lange's Saxonia Annual Calendar from 38.5 to 36 mm. The organisers themselves list among the keys of the edition two or three hands, ultra-thin, skeleton, vintage inspiration and more compact dimensions.
We have tested that trend against buying data in another article, and the result is less clear-cut than the shop windows suggest.
What else deserves remembering
- Tudor Monarch. Revives an old name with 39 mm, 65 hours, 100 metres and dual COSC and METAS certification for €5,400, a Spanish retailer's price. For us, and this is opinion, the most interesting novelty for what it offers against what it asks.
- Flexible engineering. Flexible mechanisms are no longer a rarity: TAG Heuer uses them in the Monaco Evergraph and Patek Philippe in the Celestial 6105G.
- Materials. Tantalum in the Zenith G.F.J. and a proprietary alloy, Jubilee Gold, at Rolex.
- Power reserve. The hand-wound Panerai Luminor 31 Giorni PAM01631, in 200 pieces, promises 31 days.
- Certification. Shortly before the fair, COSC presented its stricter Excellence Chronometer. Its first watches were expected in October 2026; we have not been able to confirm they have arrived.
